3453872 - The Net Value and Net Price Fields are Grayed Out for the Items in a Sales Order Document

Symptom

The Net Value and Net Price fields are grayed out for the Items in a Sales Order document and also the Price List field is not displayed for the items in the document.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Sales Order Work Center.
  2. Under Common tasks, select New Sales Order.
  3. Click on View all button.
  4. Fill the mandatory information in the General tab.
  5. Navigate to the Items tab.
  6. Click on Add Row button.
  7. Under Product ID column, insert Product ID ABC (where ABC represents the Sales Order ID)

The Net Value and Net Price fields are displayed grayed out and also the List Price field is not displayed for the items in the document.

Cause

As per standard system behavior the Net Value and Net Price field cannot be manually changed in a Sales Order document, however these fields are have their values based on the List Price field. The value maintained in the List Price field will determine the Price and related price information for the item.

Therefore, in order to change the amounts of Net Value and Net Price fields in the Sales Order, it is required to manually change the amount in the List Price field of the item.

In addtion, the List Price field is always enabled for Items in Sales Order as this is a mandatory information to be carried out to other Sales documents (with the exception being for Kit sub Items). If the List Price is not being displayed for a specific Sales document, then the field is not yet enabled in the Personalization Mode.

Resolution

In this case, we kindly ask you to enable the List Price field to be displayed for the Sales Order document in order to change the Price values for the Items.

  1. Go to the Sales Order Work Center.
  2. Go to the Sales Orders View.
  3. Filter for All Orders.
  4. Open any Sales Order.
  5. Select View All.
  6. Navigate to the Items tab.
  7. Click on the User Icon.
  8. Select Start Personalization Mode.
  9. Select the Arrow in the Unnamed Table option.
  10. Mark the checkbox in the List Price option.
  11. Select Save in the Personalization column.
  12. Click on the User Icon.
  13. Select Stop Personalization Mode.

The List Price field should be displayed for all Sales Order documents. Also when changing the value of this field the Net Value and Net Price should be redetermined accordingly.
