3454505 - Adding Host to HANA System with error "Directory '/hana/data/SID/mntxxxx' is not shared"

Symptom

  • When installing a scale-out HANA database on two hosts, the following error happened.
  • The installation on the coordinator host was successfully finished, and the error happened while trying to install on the worker host.
    • Select roles for host 'saphost2':

        Directory '/hana/data/HAN/mnt00001' is not shared on saphost2

  • hdblcm.llog
    • Adding additional host...                                                        
      Adding host 'saphost2'...                                                   
        saphost2:    Running in batch mode                                        
      Reconfiguring SAP HANA system failed!                                            
        Add hosts:                                                                     
          Creating a multiple host system failed                                       
            Adding host 'saphost2' failed!                                        
              Add host failed                                                          
                Running in batch mode                                                  
                  Directory '/hana/data/HAN' is not accessible                         
                    Missing write permission for others at /hana/data/HAN
                  Directory '/hana/data/HAN' is not accessible                         
                    Missing write permission for others at /hana/data/HAN
  • Permission on the those directory has no problem.
    • [root@saphost2 log]# ll /hana/data /hana/log
      /hana/data:
      total 0
      drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 6 Mar 18 16:47 HAN

      /hana/log:
      total 0
      drwxrwxrwx 2 root root 6 Mar 18 16:47 HAN
