3456364 - It takes a long time to import package having dozens of objects via Content Network  in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • It takes a long time to import package having dozens of objects via Content Network  in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud, Enterprise Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SAC tenant.
  2. Navigate to 'Transport' > 'Import'.
  3. Under the 'Content Network Storage'.
  4. Select one package having dozens of objects.
  5. Click on 'Import'.
=> Notice that the content is getting imported successfully, but it is taking significant time than usual.

Cause

  • It is an expected behavior when import option "Overwrite objects and Data" is used without selecting "Remove Permissions" check box.
  • As a result, the objects from the package which are already existing in the tenant would be updated, which takes a long time.

Resolution

Workaround:

  • Option 1: reduce the objects imported from the package.
  • Option 2: select "Remove Permissions" check box.
=> In this case, the objects which are already existing in the tenant,  would be dropped and then reimported from the package, so it will take much less time.
