3456516 - Error Message in Project Migration

Symptom

You are trying to migrate a Project via Migration Tool, however you face the error messages "Changes made affect the scheduling of the project" and "Data inconsistent for confirmation".

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Configuration - Overview view.
  2. Filter and open activity: Migration of Projects.
  3. Click on Migrate projects using the migration tool.
  4. Select the relevant file.
  5. Execute the migration.

See the error messages.

Cause

There is a wrong information added in the template.

Resolution

  1. Under Action Column, click on Edit Source Record.
  2. Select the correct file.
  3. Go to Project Plan tab.
  4. Change the value of  Time Recording Approver Type field from 1 to 2.
  5. Click save and close.

The "Time Recording Approver Type" field determines who will approve the time confirmations. 

- If TimeConfirmationApproverTypeCode = 1, the Project Lead has to approve the time confirmations. 
- If TimeConfirmationApproverTypeCode = 2, the Task Owner has to approve the time confirmations. 

If you maintain TimeConfirmationApproverTypeCode = 1 in the excel sheet, the project lead will have to approve the time confirmations, and you should not get any errors.
By following these steps, the migration process should proceed without errors.
