3458050 - System is not Allowing Decimal Values in New Planning Proposal.

Symptom

When creating a New Planning Proposal you notice the system rounds up decimal quantities to the next whole number.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Supply Planning Work Center.
  2. Go to Common Tasks.
  3. Select New Planning Proposal View.
  4. Click Add Row.
  5. Maintain the Product ID.
  6. Maintain the Quantity as a figure with a decimal value. e.g 1.25, 1,5.
  7. Maintain the Planning Area ID.
  8. You will notice that the system rounds the quantity up to the next whole number in the Planning Quantity Column.

Cause

You have not maintained decimals settings in their Business Configuration.

Resolution

  1. Go to Business and Configuration Work Center.
  2. Go to Implementation Projects View.
  3. Select the Relevant Implementation Project.
  4. Click Open Activity List.
  5. Filter by All Activities.
  6. Search for the activity 'Quantities and Units of Measure'.
  7. Click Open.
  8. Click 'Create and Maintain Trading Units'.
  9. Find the relevant UoM  (Unit of Measure) that you are using.
  10. Enter the amount of decimals you would like to show in the 'Display Decimals' column.
  11. You can now create a New Planning Proposal, the system should now show the Decimal Values.
