Symptom

onChange rule does not work to set value for Job Application Object fields.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

Configuration requirements:

  1. Create a business rule using Recruiting -> Job Application: Basic Business Rule Scenario.
  2. Configure the business rule to set a default value for a Job Application Object field.
  3. Go to Manage Rules in Recruiting > Job Application, associate the business rule with a field under Field Change Rules.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a job application using the Latest Applicant Workbench.
  2. Change the field associated to trigger the business rule.
  3. The business rule is triggered but the object field is set to "No Selection".

Resolution

This is a known issue and the Engineering team is working to fix it.

Workaround:

Business rules are working when configured as onSave, so the workaround is to configure the business rule as both onChange and onSave rules.
