3458806 - Error "An error has occurred. Please refresh the metadata cache in your source..." when using Configuration Transport Center - Integration Center

You are using the new Configuration Transport Center feature for Integration Center jobs and are getting the following error: 

"An error has occurred. Please refresh the metadata cache in your source and target instances and try again. To refresh the metadata cache, go to Admin Center > OData API Metadata Refresh and Export, and then choose Refresh. If you are still unable to generate the authentication token, please contact Product Support."



The error may occur in different scenarios, e.g.:
1. When adding a New Pair (under tab Bundle Management)
2. When manually deleting a pairing under the Transport Routes tab

Please note our Engineering team is aware of this issue and is currently working towards a permanent fix (our internal reference MDF-86458). This KBA will be kept up-to-date.
In the meantime, please follow these steps as a potential workaround:

1. Ensure you have thoroughly implemented the steps at: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_SUCCESSFACTORS_PLATFORM/8c9fccb5d25142b1b8cba20640b5e923/96e95dd3b40742e3b657a8ebb7683c9b.html
2. Perform a metadata refresh in both your source and target instances as per KBA 2171588 - OData API Metadata Refresh and Export in SuccessFactors Cloud.
3. If this does not address the issue, run the MDF Object Definition to DB Sync job (instructions in KBA 2534674 - How To Fix Inconsistencies In Metadata Framework (MDF)).
4. If this still does not address the issue, raise a Support case in component LOD-SF-INT-INC as Support will need to check whether FeatureEnum.ENABLE_TENANT_REFRESH is enabled on both instances (this will be done internally with our Operations team).
