3458918 - Using a business rule to set application status to null

Symptom

When using a business rule to set the application status (fieldId: status) to null the rule does not work.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Via Configure Business Rules > Create a business rule to set the application status to null
  2. Add the rule under the Job Requisition template via Manage Rules in Recruiting
  3. Trigger the rule on the application
  4. Note the status does not update

Cause

Status on the application can't be set to null.

Resolution

Status on the application requires a value.

This business rule will fail with an exception in server logs and will not action the status to null.
