Symptom
System proposes logistics area ABC (ABC represents logistics area ID) as source logistics area for a pick task. However, check in Stock Overview, there is no sufficient on-hand stock for the product in logistics area ABC.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to work center Outbound Logistics.
- Access view Task Control.
- Select a pick task, click Confirm.
- Under tab Line Items, for product DEF (DEF represents product ID), logistics area ABC is proposed as source logistics area.
- Check in Stock Overview, there is no sufficient on-hand stock for product DEF in logistics area ABC.
Cause
This pick task is located in site XYZ (XYZ represents site ID). All/many logistics areas (including ABC) under site XYZ have not maintained allocation type and allocation scope, these logistics areas are considered with infinite inventory, hence they will be considered when system is looking for source logistics area, no matter there is sufficient stock or not.
Resolution
Please maintain allocation type and allocation scope for all logistics areas under site XYZ.
