3459356 - System accepting Alternate Unit of Measure - even though not maintained in material master

System accepting Alternative UOM, even though the UoM is not maintained in the material master.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud 

Material is setup with Unit of Measure KG only / No alternative UoM maintained.

1. Post Goods Movement.
2. Goods Receipt / Other / Movement Type 561.
3. Enter Material / Plant details.
4. Enter Quantity eg 10 - system defaults the UoM as KG.
5. Change the UoM from KG to TON.

Qty in Unit of Entry  100            TON
Qty in SKU               90,718.400  KG

Material Document is created referring to TON & KG

Dimension 'MASS' in CUNI :  the following Units of Measure belong to MASS:

OZ    OZ   oz    Ounce
TO    TO    t      t

Unit of Measure TON belongs to the Dimensions 'Mass'  so this is why the system is allowing you to enter a UoM TON in the goods movement posting. 

It might be the case that you wish to enter a large quantity in 'G' but the field in question can only handle a certain number of characters, it then makes sense to enter 100 TON = which converts to the qty in 'G'.
