Symptom
TIH attributes created with ampersand (&) or non-printable symbol in name or description fail to be mapped to roles.
No error is displayed, the attribute is not appearing in Manage job profile content Skill or Competency tab, while being picked up, but is displayed in Manage Talent Intelligence Hub tool.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Talent Intelligence Hub
- SAP SuccessFactors Job Profile Builder
Reproducing the Issue
- Log in to system
- Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Job Profile Content
- In the dropdown, select Set Up Families and Roles
- Select the Roles tab > Select any role
- Select the Mapped Competencies or Skills tab > Map Competencies (Skills)
- Select competencies (skills) created in TIH > Map > I'm Done > Save Role
- Mapped competencies (skills) are not displayed
Cause
The attributes can't be mapped because of ampersand symbol (&) or other non-printable symbols in name or description.
Resolution
The Engineering team is working at the enhancement for the ampersand symbol (&).
For release timelines, please review SAP SuccessFactors Product Release & Road Map Information.
Workaround
- For Skills: If a skill has ampersand symbol (&) in the name or description field, please make the skill as Inactive first and recreate it without "&" or non-printable symbol in the name or description.
- For Competencies: If a competency has ampersand symbol (&) in the name or description field, please edit the competency and remove "&" non-printable symbol in the name or description.
Note: Please avoid text copying from MS Office documents or websites directly to Talent Intelligence Hub or clear your import files, so that no non-printable symbol will be pasted to the attribute name or description.
