3459556 - Removal of SAP Sales Cloud Category in Outlook Side Does Not Delete the Record From the System

Symptom

After removing the SAP Sales Cloud category from a meeting in Outlook calendar, the meeting is not removed from the SAP Sales cloud v2 system.

Environment

  • SAP Service Cloud v2
  • SAP Sales Cloud v2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Open a meeting or email that has the SAP Sales Cloud category added.
  3. Remove the category.
  4. After some time the category is back and in the system the email or meeting can still be found.

Resolution

It's important to note that removing the "SAP Sales Cloud" category from an already synchronized item in Outlook will not trigger deletion on the SAP Sales and Service Cloud V2 side, and vice versa.

The category will be recovered during the next sync session for items previously synchronized and will still be accessible on both Outlook and SAP system.
