Google has announced the cancelation of plan around third-party cookies(3PC) deprecation. A new path for Privacy Sandbox on the web
The blog post reads - Instead of deprecating third-party cookies, we would introduce a new experience in Chrome that lets people make an informed choice that applies across their web browsing, and they’d be able to adjust that choice at any time. We're discussing this new path with regulators, and will engage with the industry as we roll this out.
Hence Please be informed that any support incidents raised to request the enablement of CSD migration will be rejected by the SAP SuccessFactors support team.
Currently, no new enablement for CSD migration are being processed, as the migration is on hold while the product team reviews Google's recent cancellation announcement regarding third-party cookies. We encourage customer to review the SAP SuccessFactors customer community blog updates after they are updated on Wednesday, August 21, to stay informed on the latest developments.
We recognize that some customers may have already evaluated or begun implementing the CSD solution in response to the 3PC deprecation. To support you during this review period, we have prepared a brief FAQ addressing the most common questions. This information will be updated as we receive further details.
FAQ's:
1) What you should do next depends on your current stage in the CSD migration process. Here’s a general guideline:
1. Early Evaluation: If customer are in the early stages of evaluating the CSD migration, they can pause any further activities until they receive additional information from product team
2. CSD Enablement Request: If customer have initiated a request through a support incident to enable CSD migration, the SAP SuccessFactors support team can reject the ticket, as no new enablement for CSD migration might be needed. If Support receives any such enablement requests going further we can deny such requests and inform them to follow relevant blog updates.
3. In-Progress CSD Migration: SAP SuccessFactors will support this CSD migration and help you complete it successfully as per the normal support process.
4. Successfully Completed Migration: If customer have fully migrated to CSD, they are all set. No action is required from their end
5. Stuck/Failed Migration: Customer can raise a support incident, and the ticket will be addressed following a thorough investigation.
2) Given that CSD migration is successful on some test tenants while others, including the production tenant, remain on the legacy domain, do I need to revert the CSD migration from the tenants where it was already executed?
No, revert is not needed and its not feasible as per the process , SAP SuccessFactors today supports both legacy domain and common super domain, customer’s can continue to have tenants in both these domains. In general, the CSD migration is part of SAP's broader Unified URL initiative, which aims to streamline and consolidate domain management. Therefore, there is no harm in having a set of tenants on CSD and the rest on legacy domain.
3) What would be the domain if I purchase a new tenant, or I am a new customer to SAP SuccessFactors?
As of December 2023, all new tenants, including existing customers acquiring new tenants and new customers, will be provisioned on the Common Super Domain. This shift from the legacy domain to the Common Super domain.
