Symptom

The field "Procurement Type" is not editable in App Change material (MM02)

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Change Material app (MM02).
  2. Enter the material number.
  3. Select the MRP 2 view & Click continue.
  4. Enter the plant number & Click continue.
  5. In MRP 2 tab, the field procurement type is disabled.

Cause

The F1 help on field  (Procurement Type) states the procurement type is defined by the material type.

The table field MARC-BESKZ (Procurement Type) is defaulted from material type (Customizing SSCUI Define Attributes of Material Types) depends on the way the material is created.

Resolution

To change the procurement type field, set internal and external procurement for the material type in (Customizing SSCUI Define Attributes of Material Types) accordingly.
