3460672 - Why when IQ server is started with MYIP, dbisql fails to connect with localhost - SAP IQ

Symptom

  • When IQ server started with MYIP param, ex: start_iq -n iqdemo -x tcpip{MYIP=2001.xxxx.xxxx.xxxx;port=1234} iqdemo.db
  • On the same host, connect with dbisql with host=localhost, ex: dbisql -nogui -c "eng=iqdemo;links=tcpip{host=localhost;port=1234};uid=dba;pwd=ssqqll"

dbisql connection fails with

Could not connect to the database.
Database server not found
SQLCODE=-100, ODBC 3 State="08001"
