3460682 - Error Message When Request Absence With Insufficient Balance

When requesting an absence, admin is getting a different error message than what is displayed for employee

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Off

Login as an employee (or proxy an employee)

1. Go to Time Off ESS UI.
2. Request Absence that is above the current balance
3. A generic error message is raised.
   • "You cannot apply for an absence of this duration because the balance in the time account is not sufficient."

Login as admin to request time off to an employee

1. Go to Administer Time UI
2. Request Absence that is above the current balance
3. A specific Error Message with  is thrown.
   • Sorry, you can’t request xx days. You only have xx days of leave left 

The message depends on the Time Type configuration

• If the Hide Account Balance is set to NO -> Specific message with account balance details is shown.

• If the Hide Account Balance is set to YES -> Generic message without account balance details is shown

Decide whether which of the scenario best suits your business requirement i.e

1. Go to Time Profile > Select the Time Type
2. Take Action > Make Correction > Change the 'Hide Account Balance' to 'Yes' or 'No' per your requirement.
