3460682 - Error Message When Request Absence With Insufficient Balance

When requesting an absence, admin is getting a different error message than what is displayed for employee

• SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core 
• Employee Central
• Time Off

• Login as an employee (or proxy an employee)
  • Go to Time Off 
  • Request Absence that is above the current balance
  • A generic Error Message  is thrown.
    • You cannot apply for an absence of this duration because the balance in the time account is not sufficient.
• Login as admin to request time off to an employee
  • Go to Administer Time
  • Request Absence that is above the current balance
  • A specific Error Message with  is thrown.
    • Sorry, you can’t request xx days. You only have xx days of leave left 

The output of the message depends on the Time Type configuration in the Time Profile Details.

• if the Hide Account Balance is set to NO - Specific message with account balance details is shown
• if the Hide Account Balance is set to YES - Generic message without account balance details is shown

Decide whether which of the scenario best suits your business requirement.

Hide Account Balance or Display it.

To make the change

• • Go to Time Profile
  • Select the Time Type
  • Click on the relevant Details
  • Change the Hide Account Balance to your requirement.
