3461019 - Mapping negative DEC values to CHAR fields

Symptom

A decimal type field is mapped to a character type field and the source contains negative numeric values. The result in the target is different, depending on the runtime of the Transformation/DTP.

For example when the source contains the numeric value -123.45, then depending on the runtime, the following value is updated to the target CHAR type field:

  • HANA Runtime: -123.45
    Aligned to the left
  • ABAP Runtime: '        123.45-'
    Aligned to the right
