3461389 - Replication Flow: Failed because maximum number of deletion retries reached

Symptom

Running a replication flow caused error "Object replications failed because maximum number of deletion retries reached. You can check the availability of the target system and either restart the objects or start a new run"

Environment

SAP Datasphere

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Run a replication flow.
  2. The replication flow failed with the error.

Cause

  • The issue can happen when the target table has data and when replication flow is set to "initial" and run. The system tries to delete the content of the table and the deletion is causing a timeout which causes the error.
  • The issue can also happen in a  replication flow with the settings "initial and delta" when the flow is stopped and re-started. Every time when the replication flow is restarted it tries to delete the content and load the initial data. The deletion process times out and causes the error.

Resolution

A retry of the replication flow after sometime should resolve the issue.
