3461438 - Territory is not Determined Automatically by Workflow Rule

Symptom

A Workflow Rule was created to automatically derive territories for Accounts when a change is done but the Workflow is not getting triggered.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

Steps to create Workflow:

  1. Go to Administrator > Workflow rules
  2. Click on new and set it as:
  • Business Object: Account
  • Timing: Scheduled
  • Event: Changed On
  • Condition: None
  • Action: Derive territory

Now go to Customers > Accounts

  1. Open any Account
  2. Make a dummy change
  3. The derive territory is not triggered

Cause

No conditions have been maintained for the workflow rule.

Resolution

The Workflow Rule must be changed by adding conditions groups using the Account Owner ID (or some field that will be related to the territory). In action, use Update Field to update the Territory field with the Territory ID.
