3461490 - Trigger Offboarding/Crossboarding via Import Employee Data Issue - Onboarding 1.0

Symptom

  • Offboarding activity is triggered only on the termination date when Termination is done via Import Employee Data.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Admin Center > Import Employee Data.
  2. Select Termination Details.
  3. Import the list of the Employees to be offboarded.
  4. See that the Offboarding Activity is not created until the termination date of the employees imported.

Cause

The system is working as designed:

  • As per the Product Management Team, Importing Employee Data to initiate Offboarding/Crossboarding may result to functional issues or unexpected behaviors.

Resolution

  • As confirmed by the Product Management Team, Importing Employee Data is not a standard way to trigger offboarding or crossboarding, as this may result in functional issues or unexpected behavior.
  • As per the Implementation Guide, Onboarding 1.0 only has the following ways of triggering Offboarding/Crossboarding in Onboarding 1.0:
    • Terminate from Employee Profile - EC
    • Via 3rd Party Applicant Tracking System
    • Via Manage Employees > Offboarding Mass Import
    • Manual Offboarding Creation from Onboarding - Process Tab.

In this case, to ensure that the offboarding activities are triggered as per the expected behavior, please initiate the termination only using the standard way of triggering the Offboarding Process mentioned above.
