3461554 - Failure to Send Workflow Notification Email via Output Management

Symptom

Upon investigation, the following symptoms have been observed:

  • Email templates are correctly maintained, and the "SAP_WORKFLOW_OUTPUT_MANAGEMENT" job is activated and running.
  • The corresponding workflow log shows records of "Notification email to recipients triggered (Template ID 'XXXXXXXX')" without any records of "Send a Mail with Output Management" and "Send Request is Registered".
  • The intended recipients did not receive the corresponding emails, and the sending request can't be located in T-code SOST.
  • The application log of the SAP_WORKFLOW_OUTPUT_MANAGEMENT job (T-code SLG1 Object: /WF/JOBS, Subobject: OUTPUT_MANAGEMENT) indicates the following error: "Workitem 'xxxx' has no recipients with valid e-mail addresses. (SWF_FLEX_RUN 066)".
