3462282 - "Installation completed with errors" message appears at the end of SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) installation

Symptom

  • Receive error message at the end of SAP BI platform 4.x installation : "Installation completed with errors" 
  • Server Intelligence Agent (SIA) is missing in Central Configuration Manager  (CCM)
  • In setupengine.log file, the following entries are found:
    • Error: Can't rename: <InstallDir>\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\setup.engine_temp to:  <InstallDir>\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\setup.engine
    • Error: Error updating installed version of the setup engine. Aborting..
    • Error: Failed to update setup engine executables. Program will exit.
    • Error: Could not move temp dest folder to dest folder.Error:   Temp dest folder: <InstallDir>\SAPBusinessObjects\InstallData\tmp\setup.core-4.0-core-32Error:   Dest folder:     <InstallDir>\SAPBusinessObjects\InstallData\InstallCache\setup.core-4.0-core-32\14.2.7.3069\Error: Class name:   class Poco::FileAccessDeniedExceptionError: Display text: Access to file denied: \\?\ <InstallDir>\SAPBusinessObjects\InstallData\tmp\setup.core-4.0-core-32Error: Could not move temp dest folder to dest folder.
