Symptom

When creating a storage type, the error message is displayed: "Storage type & in warehouse & isn't in the customer namespace" Message no. /SCWM/CORE_T331SSC003 

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

System Behavior. The system prevents the creation of the storage type. Namespace restriction is applied on the key fields in the application.  

Resolution

It's necessary to create entries other than the following SAP Best practice content namespace restrictions.

  • S, Q, R, X, P, Y for character fields
  • 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 for numeric fields

The namespaces above are reserved for SAP use, so please create the storage type starting with letters other than those reserved, e.g., Z can be used for namespaces.
