3464177 - Application Log IDs from Mass Data Runs are Out of Sequence

Symptom

You can see that Mass Data Run Views show Application Log IDs out of order (e.g. the Application Log ID 283 was processed before Application Log ID 250).

Environment

  • SAP Cloud for Customer
  • SAP Business ByDesign
  • SAP Cloud Applications Studio

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Custom Work Center View created for Mass Data Run.
  2. Select a Run ID.
  3. You can see its Application Log IDs out of sequence.

Cause

This is a system standard behavior. To improve the performance of the system, most application number ranges are buffered on the application servers. Otherwise, every number would have to be fetched from the database server by the application server in sequence, via the network, which can be very detrimental to performance. That's reason why you can see application logs out of sequence in Mass Data Run work center views.

Resolution

This is an expected system behavior for keeping system stability and performance.
