3464304 - G/L Account Balances Migration Error: Account AAA In Chart Of Accounts BBB Is Not Based On Open Item Management

During the G/L Account Balances migration, the following error message occurs:

Account AAA In Chart Of Accounts BBB Is Not Based On Open Item Management (AAA represents the G/L Account ID, BBB represents the Chart of Accounts ID).

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Overview view.
3. Find Migration of Accounting Transaction Data activity.
4. Press Open.
5. Press Migrate accounting transaction data using the migration tool.
6. Select the respective Migration Unit.
7. Process the file 'G/L Account Balances'.
8. In the simulation step, an error occurs: Account AAA In Chart Of Accounts BBB Is Not Based On Open Item Management.

G/L Account: AAA in Chart Of Accounts BBB does not belong to the following account types: Other Assets/ Other Liabilities / Equity.

And for G/L Account: AAA, the migration file contains information in the clearing description column which is incorrect. 

This column is only relevant if the G/L Account is open-item-managed.

For general payables and receivables, open item management is performed in the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable subledgers. Therefore it is only possible to apply open item management to the following account types:

• Other Assets

• Other Liabilities

• Equity
