3465187 - 'Selection Limit' message is displayed in apps such as Mass Changes to Projects and Manage Journal Entries

Warning message 'Selection Limit - Only the first XX of the items you selected were added to the selection' is displayed in apps such as Mass Changes to Projects and Manage Journal Entries, but the selection actually includes all items.

1. Open app 'Mass Changes to Projects';
2. Click 'Go' with default parameters to start the search;
3. Click in the 'Select All' checkbox. Notice the number of Projects and/or WBS Elements in the list;
4. A Selection Limit warning appears: 'Only the first XX of the items you selected were added to the selection';
5. Ignore the message and click in 'Mass Change';
6. The number of records displayed under 'Affected Items' is the same as the quantity selected in step 3, instead of the 20 that were mentioned in step 4.

This is the expected behavior. Apps such as 'Mass changes to projects' and 'Manage Journal Entries - New Version' are designed to allow the selection of multiple (or all) items, despite the Selection Limit warning, unlike other Fiori apps.

The display of the Selection Limit warning message is a feature intentionally implemented by the development team, in the 2303 release.

In order to understand this behavior, it is important to keep in mind that the quantity shown in the warning message corresponds to the number of loaded items/lines in the app table, and not the actual number of selections.

As shown in the image below, the default number of loaded items is 20.

However, when the user scroll the page down to the bottom, another 20 lines are loaded. Therefore, when clicking in 'Select all' again, the warning will state that the selection limit is 40 (the initial 20 items + the just loaded additional 20), and so on.

Since this warning does not indicate the actual number of selections, users can consider the 'Mass change' quantity the correct one.
