3465557 - Cannot start Information Design Tool when using a non Windows Administrator account.

Symptom

  • Below error appears when trying to launch the Information Design tool:

    "The configuration area at C:\Program Files(x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64\config\.businessobjects\bimodeler_14\config could not be created. Please choose a writable location using the '-configuration' command line option."

  • The issue occurs only for non Windows Administrator users.
