3466272 - Issues with "Close" button when accessing a project or item via the Fiori Launchpad

Symptom

Carry out navigation in the Fiori Launchpad leading to a Project Management project or Portfolio Item being accessed in a new tab. Encounter one of the following issues concerning the application "Close" button:

  • The application "Close" button is displayed but is not responsive. Clicking the button multiple times may lead to an error screen "500 Internal Server Error".
  • The application "Close" button does not close the browser tab (instead it navigates back to the home screen). Further navigation in this browser tab fails.
  • The application "Close" button is not displayed.
