3467203 - The comment widget has a high impact on the overall loading time of a story in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• Commenting widgets have negative impact on the report performance, therefore had to be set to be loaded last to avoid delays on the story visualization in SAC.
• The comment widget has a high impact on the overall loading time of a SAC story.
• In the example without the comment widget the story is loaded in 17 seconds. With one comment widget the story is loaded in 24 seconds.
• Comparing the network trace for both cases shows a high number of additional requests to the backend from the comment widget.
• Currently the large overhead of the comment widgets impact the waiting time for the user for the other charts.

• SAP BW/4HANA 2021

1. Login to SAC.
2. Create a story based on direct live data connection to SAP BW.
3. Insert charts and comment widgets and save and close the story.
4. Re-open the story and observe the high number of requests in the DevTools/HAR file.
5. Delete the comment widget and load the story again.
6. Observe the shorter loading time and less requests.
