3467367 - Assignment Name option under "Manage Permission Roles" page

Symptom

  • "No Name (Click "Edit" to get a system-generated name for the assignment.)" showing as Assignment name
  • Manage Permission Roles Assignment name different from legacy RBP page

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access Manage Permission Roles
  2. Select role any permission role
  3. Click on Assignments tab
  4. See the Name shows "No Name (Click "Edit" to get a system-generated name for the assignment.)"

Resolution

The Assignments Name is not the name of the permission group. This is something new, introduced in the last release, which was not available in the legacy RBP.

From the Permission Role Detail, when going to "Grant this role to..." we can see:

  • ID
  • Permission Groups
  • Target Population

The combination of the Permission Group and the Target population is what we call "Rules".

Each rule in that screenshot is represented by a row that contains your list of granted users or groups and the associated target group. Depending on the complexity of the roles and access or target group assignments, your roles could have various combinations of access and target group rules.

However, in the legacy page, we did not have the option to set a Name for a Rule.

This is now available. By default, it shows "No Name". It is possible to either edit it to give a system generated name or choose a custom one.
