When attempting to save a new goal, receive an error:

Cannot invoke "$TableColumn.getLabel()" because the return value of "$Field.getTableColumn(String)" is null


SAP SuccessFactors Goal Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to SuccessFactors
  2. Navigate to Home dropdown > Goals
  3. Select a goal plan
  4. Select Create Goal
  5. Select any option
  6. Select a goal(s) > Next
  7. If applicable, edit the goal(s) > Next
  8. Select Save
  9. Receive error


The metric lookup table has unsupported fields


The goal plan can be adjusted so there are only supported fields from Implementing and Managing Goal Management - Comparison Table of Elements and Attributes.

As a customer, you do not have access to Provisioning. Please engage a Certified Partner to assist with this configuration. If you do not have a Certified Partner, you can look for one using SAP Professional Services / SAP Certified Partner / SAP Account Management Team [SuccessFactors Cloud].
