3467531 - Target quantity for production order is not as expected

Symptom

You are working with Scope Item BEI. For you have done Variance Calculation for production order. When checking the target quantity and target costs for the production order, it shows value not understandable.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

You might have set "Fixed Quantity" for the component material in BOM setting or in the order master data.

Resolution

According to the explanation of the field "Fixed Quantity", if you set the flag on:

"The quantity fixed quantity is not in proportion to the assembly being produced or the order quantity.
The quantity for provision of material is fixed."

If you have the same material component multiple times in the BOM, and for some items, you set this "Fixed Quantity", for the rest, you didn't set it, the result would be more complex.

To understand the calculation logic, you can open app Run Variance Calculation Order Single. Input parameters and Execute. In the result screen, choose the header line and click button Cost Elements. In the item details view, choose the line you want to analyze, and click the button Target Costs. You will get the detailed calculation logic screen, which can help you to understand.
