How to perform intercompany clearing of lockbox items using Processing Rules.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

1. Access the app Manage Incoming Payment Files.
2. Click on Import.
3. Select Lockbox Batch.
4. Upload the lockbox file.
5. Click on Process.

In order to perform intercompany clearing, an option to look for intercompany open items is provided in the Allocation Algorithm ADVICE_ASSGNMNT_AND_MATCH_SEQ - Payment Advice Search and Assignment Sequence (ASMT). The Allocation algorithms are used in processing rules to find matching open items, to post and clear them. 

The below steps need to be followed to set the option for intercompany clearing:

1. Create a processing rule in Manage Processing Rules - for Lockbox.
2. Select the action type as Clear in Sequence.
   
3. Choose the processing instruction as ASMT.
   
4. Navigate to third facet and expand.
   
5. In the Match Items in Sequence section, select the flag 'Intercompany Open Items'.
   
6. Select an option in Source Field and Use Source Field as.
   
7. Click on Create.

The rule can be automated, and it finds the open items automatically if the scope item 4X8 is activated in the system. A manual rule can be applied manually on the respective item in Reprocess Lockbox Items app
