3467978 - Column changed via Open SQL in Local Table cannot be transported in Datasphere

Symptom

Column changed via Open SQL in Local Table cannot be transported in SAP Datasphere.

Environment

SAP Datasphere

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In Datasphere source tenant, go to Database explorer of HANA Cloud Database.
  2. Add column via SQL. For example: ALTER TABLE xxx ADD (yyy);
  3. In Datasphere source tenant, refresh the local table. Find that able to see the added column.
  4. Export this local table from Datasphere source tenant and import to Datasphere target tenant.
  5. In Datasphere target tenant, open the local table. Find that able to see the added column.
  6. In Datasphere source tenant, go to Database explorer of HANA Cloud Database and check the table. Cannot see the column in Database side.

Cause

Currently, open SQL schema-based tables cannot be transported.

Resolution

  • This is a new feature request for SAP Datasphere and there is already such request in Datasphere influence channel. See Improvement Request 315789 - Customer Influence.
