Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Cause

Engineering identified a release defect and is working to deploy a resolution.

MDF introduced a new save data model in 2405 release which has better performance, it has also been applied to MDF custom object.

Due its complexity, some functionalities may display fall back to MDF legacy save, e.g. MCPD object, pre-delivered application MDF object, more than 2-level top-comp structure etc.

This KBA will be updated as per new details and information were shared.

Resolution

Engineering shared a workaround while they work in a definitive solution.

  1. In 'Configure Object Definitions' page, create a new 'FromParent' object definition, naming as 'cust_dummyComp' and leave all other fields default.
  2. Search object definition affected and add definition created in step1 as the 1:1 composite association to the custom object affected.
  3. Go to approve the workflow request and it will be approved.

The workaround will add one more level on comp so that it will fall back to legacy save where there's no such issue.
