3469089 - SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit: "Converting the file payload from string-format to ABAP-types failed"

In Migration Cockpit, it is not possible to migrate "FI - Accounts payable open item" MO. The following errors are being raised:

• Converting the file payload from string-format to ABAP-types failed (DMC_MDINTERPRETER 5)
• Data sheet 'Vendor Open Items' (row 20): Converting the field 'Amount' to an ABAP-type failed (DMC_INTERPRETER 9)
• Value 12345678.987654321 cannot be converted; value can have maximum 2 decimal places

The important thing to notice is:

• In the Migration object XML template, a value such as "12345678.98" can be seen (2 or less decimal places)
• The error message, however, shows the value as "12345678.987654321" (a lot more digits after the ones shown at the XML file)

The ultimate confirmation comes via opening the XML template with a text editing software (like Notepad, Notepad++, Sublime or similar) and then search for the value.
