3469194 - "The multi action can't run because it contains errors." in the multi action trigger in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

The error "The multi action can't run because it contains errors." occurs in some cases:

• you click a multi action trigger from the story but the multi action trigger cannot be loaded
• the multi action trigger can be opened successfully but after you select some values for one of the parameters in the multi action trigger and click ok, the multi action trigger cannot be loaded

Clicking the link "Fix the errors in the multi action designer." opens this multi action desinger but no validation error is shown for this multi action.
Even if you check the data actions of this multi action one by one, none of them contains any validation error. 

• SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 

1. Log in to SAC.
2. Open a story.
3. Open a multi action trigger.

The parameter value selected in the multi action runtime does not meet the requirements in the data action definition.
For example, a Not in Hierarchy member is selected as the parameter but according to the code in the data action, this parameter must be set to a member in the hierarchy.

In the multi action, please select the parameter that meets the requirements in the data action.
In order to find what requirements are violated, you can go to the data action and set the default member of this parameter to the same member as the one selected in the multi action trigger. You will see the detailed validation error in the data action.

If your case is because a Not in Hierarchy member is selected as the parameter, you can consider using CONFIG.HIERARCHY.INCLUDE_MEMBERS_NOT_IN_HIERARCHY [ModelName] = [d/DimensionName] for this dimension in the data action to solve the issue.

Meanwhile, the development team is working to improve the behavior, for example, changing the place of the error display to the specific parameter section instead of making the whole multi action trigger to show the error "The multi action can't run because it contains errors." and not load. This KBA will be updated once the development team set up a timeframe of this improvement.
