Reproducing the Issue
- Pre-requisite: Enable Diagnostic tool by providing RBP permissions. see KBA:3468733 & then reproduce the issue.
- Go to Admin Center.
- Search and select Diagnostic Tool.
- Select Type of Transaction= Workflows.
- Enter search fields at least one of the field Requested By or Requested For value.
- Date of transaction is mandatory.
- Search the recent transaction for workflows and view the details.
Resolution
- In the results page check the business rule that is selected for the transaction. You can also click on it and in a new pop-up window the business rule logic will open. Adjust the logic if it needs adjustment. If several workflow derivation rules involved then change the order of the business rules the last match will always be selected instead of the first rule on the top.
- In results page you can also see which workflow configuration was selected, and if you click on it you can see the workflow configuration details. If the workflow trigger date is earlier than the last updated on the workflow configuration's audit trial, then there has been changes recently and it's not possible to see what settings were there when workflow triggered.
- Compare the workflow participants among the expected workflow configuration, actual workflow configuration and the expanded list of approvers section to see if expected workflow configuration was triggered and if yes then was the approver(s) changed due to skipping or delegation logic.
- If one of the approver step is a Dynamic Group or Dynamic Role, check Action Performed by to know who actually approved the workflow or took action on the workflow among the group members.
- Click on one of the userid to see Name and details of the employee on the quick card that opens.
- Check in Email Information section to see which type of template was used for sending out email notification.
