Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Access SuccessFactors Learning
- Go To Learning Administration
- Merge User
- Search for active and inactive user
- Try to merge the users and error is generated.
Cause
- The two users are in managerial relationship to each other and the user records cannot be merged.
- The error can also be caused by the creation of two users records in ONB for the same user.
- LMS will create to different IDs and when the LMS admin then attempts to merge these two users, the error is generated.
Resolution
Identify the managerial relationship using the User Search:
- Open Learning Administration > People > Users
- Add/remove criteria > enable Managers filter criteria if it is not active
- Create a Manager filter > search for User 'A' from the two affected users
- Include direct and indirect reports below
- Click 'Add to Filter' and 'Submit Filter'
- Return to the Search and click 'Search'
- Confirm if User 'B' is present in the results
Repeat these steps and search for User B's direct and indirect reports as well. Confirm whether User 'A' is in the results.
Remove the primary manager value in SuccessFactors (or in LMS, if they are learning-only users) from the user who has been identified as a direct or indirect report to the other, and attempt the merge again.
