3469993 - Unable to copy KUT field to ID field using Workflow Rule

You have created an extension field and wish to use the "copy from field" feature to copy its data to any existing ID field via Workflow Rule.

In this example we will use Tickets and the field Product ID, but the same behaviour applies to other objects and ID fields.

1. Create a new Workflow Rule
2. Under Action, choose Field Update
3. Choose the field Product ID and type Copy From Field
4. In the dropdown, any extension fields you have created are not available

This function works only if the data types of the fields (copied from and copied to) are the same.  The field Product ID (and other ID fields) are of type alphanumerical, and it is not possible to create an extension field of this type in the standard software.

This is the expected behaviour of the system.
