3471335 - Unable to activate custom process variant

User is receiving an error to activate the custom process variant in Process Variant Manager: An error occurred while activating process variant. Please contact your system administrator.

In internal LOG's it's possible to identify the following error: [COE0018]Either specified service user doesn't exist or session user doesn't have proxy permission on the specified service user."

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Go to Process Variant manager
2. Click on custom process variant
3. Try activating it you will get an error.

Inactive or missing service user

• Need to proxy as Service user to activate the custom process variant in Process Variant Manager.
• Service user can be found from Update process flow for Onboarding and offboarding.
• You can also add the user in the BPE user role. To activate the process variant, you need to deploy the Process Variant in the Business Process Engine (BPE).
