3471699 - Rehire error: "You do not have permission to edit the value." - Employee Central

Symptom

When trying to rehire an employee you receive the error: 

  • You do not have permission to edit the value. Please contact your system administrator.
    OR
  • An application error.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Rehire Inactive Employee. 
  2. Fill in all the information and click on submit. 
  3. Application error occurs. 

Cause

Duplicated information in user previous employment data, for example: Global Information has two entries in same record with exact same data in user previous employment record.

Resolution

In order to correct we suggest to full purge the incorrect portlet data with no duplicated entries to avoid data inconsistencies:
