3471982 - Inventory Disappear After Goods Movement

You have performed goods movement but cannot find corresponding inventory in target logistics area.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to work center Internal Logistics.
2. Access common task Goods Movement.
3. Move some quantity of product PRO from source logistics area LOA_1 to another logistics area LOA_2. 
4. Access common task Stock Overview, search product PRO in LOA_2, there is no on-hand stock.

Logistics area LOA_2 is not inventory-managed, while its parent logistics area LOA_3 is inventory managed. If you explore on-hand stock of product PRO in Stock Overview, you will notice the moved inventory is now stored at LOA_3.

This is because, when you perform goods movement and move goods to a logistics area which is not inventory-managed but one of its parents in the location layout is inventory-managed, system will allow this but the stock will be stored at the parent logistics area.

This is system standard behavior.

This rule also applies to Change of Stock when logistics area is changed for stock.
