3472438 - Connection Type "Tunnel" is missing when create a live connection in SAP Datasphere

Symptom

When create a new S/4HANA Live Connection or BW Live connection, option "Tunnel" cannot be found in the dropdown list of "Connection Type". Message "Some connection types are disabled because they require live on-premise data to be passed through the SAP Cloud Platform Cloud Connector." is displayed.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to System -> Data Integration -> Manage Live Data Connections.
  2. Click on "+" icon.
  3. Expend "Connect to Live Data" and select "SAP S/4HANA" or "SAP BW" to create new S/4HANA connection or BW connection.
  4. Click on "Connection Type".
  5. The option "Tunnel" is missing from the list.

Cause

"Allow live data to securely leave my network" was disabled for tenant.

Resolution

  1. Go to System -> Administration -> Data Source Configuration.
  2. Click on pencil icon at top right corner.
  3. Enable option "Allow live data to securely leave my network" from Live Data Sources section.
  4. Save the change.
