Symptom

When importing objects in Data Workbench, the error message below shows up:

File: xxxxxx.xlsx is not supported. Use one of the following file types: csv/zip

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Data Workbench > Import.
  2. Select the options: Individual Object, Upsert, Standard Objects.
  3. Select the object and then hit the button "Next".
  4. Upload the datasheet file xxxxxx.xlsx.
  5. Error occurs: File: xxxxxx.xlsx is not supported. Use one of the following file types: csv/zip.

Cause

The file type "xlsx" is not supported.

Resolution

  1. Go to Data Workbench > Import.
  2. Select the options: Individual Object, Upsert, Standard Objects.
  3. Select the object, and then download the template file.
  4. Fill in the template file.
  5. Import the object by uploading the template file.
