Symptom
- In the New Learning Experience native mobile apps, we display assignments and items across a number of sections, including Required Learning and Important Learning. When a user has at least one Required Learning assignment but no Important Learning assignments, the landing screen will display a graphic and the message within the Important Learning section, “You’re all caught up!”, which the user may dismiss. The Important Learning section is then hidden for the session.
- This behavior is different than the web, where a user with no Important Learning assignments will not see the section displayed at all; only the Required Learning section is displayed, followed by Invest in Myself, Latest Bookmarks, etc.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Learning
- SuccessFactors Mobile App (Android and iOS, v12.0 and higher)
Cause
This pattern was intentionally implemented, to help users clearly understand that no Important Learning (optional) assignments are pending.
Resolution
- We plan to change the mobile behavior to match web. Where users have Required Learning assignments but no Important Learning items, the latter section will not be displayed on the landing screen. If the user is subsequently assigned an Important Learning item, the section will automatically re-appear when the user next refreshes the screen.
- Some organizations do not use Required Assignments and have configured their system to prefer Important Learning as the primary learning category. In this scenario, the Required Assignments section is not displayed, and when the Important Learning section has no pending assignments, the “You’re all caught up!” message will still be displayed.
