3473420 - The document format in the SAP system is seen as "A Text File" when it should be "B Binary"

Symptom

  • The document format for a file is "A Text File" instead of "B Binary".
  • Such files would have been uploaded using SAPoffice. (e.g. through SBWP, via email, GOD -> Create Attachment, etc.)
  • When opening such a file it will be blank.
  • Examples of files that should be Binary are PDF, DOCX, XLS, etc.
  • When checking the attributes of a file in the system you will see the Document Format = Text-like
  • See that in the below screen shot the Document is PDF however the Document Format = Text-like
