3473451 - Technical ID of the BW query used to setup the import job in the query section not visible in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

Symptom

  • Technical ID of the BW query used in setting up of SAC import job is visible only at the time of setting up the import job and post that it is not possible to check anywhere in the SAC system that from which backend BW query the import job is fetching data.
  • How to know which backend query is fetching data while doing import jobs?
  • Is there a way to check technical ID of the query in place of query name in SAC?

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud version: 2.0

Datasource: import BW

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to SAC.
  2. Go to modeler.
  3. Open the model.
  4. Switch to data management.
  5. In query section there is the query description and not the technical ID of the exact query used.

Resolution

  • There is no way to find the technical ID of the BW query in SAC. We request you to raise an enhancement request to surface the technical ID in the SAC UI : 2424376 - How do you create an enhancement request and provide feedback for SAP Analytics Cloud? - SAP for Me

  • Workaround :
But one can still find the technical ID by inspecting the browser network traffic.

When you open the "Data Management" workspace of a model, one of the browser request is named "search?tenant=...", going to URL /sap/fpa/services/rest/fpa/dataAcquisition/v1/queries/search?tenant=... . If there are BW queries used in the mode, that request's response would contain the technical names of all those BW queries, in the respective "definition" properties.
