3474087 - SAP Marketing Cloud - Marketing Attributes rejected during Import

You import marketing attributes via the CUAN_BUSINESS_PARTNER_IMPORT service. The import raises the following error and no marketing attributes are getting updated.

"Marketing attribute category id is invalid"

• SAP Marketing Cloud Edition
• SAP Marketing onPremise

1. Maintain marketing attributes for a contact or an account in the source system, such as Sales Cloud
2. Import the marketing attributes to SAP Marketing Cloud consuming the service CUAN_BUSINESS_PARTNER_IMPORT
3. Observe the following error in the import monitor
   
4. Observe that the contact or account does not show any marketing attributes
   

The service CUAN_BUSINESS_PARTNER_IMPORT does not create new marketing attribute categories but requires the marketing attribute categories being imported to SAP Marketing prior the marketing attribute values import. If the import payload contains one single invalid marketing attribute category, all marketing attributes for the affected contact are rejected. Even the payload contains some valid marketing attribute categories for a contact, all marketing attributes for the contact are rejected: 

Make sure to have the marketing attribute categories imported consuming the API API_MKT_ATTRIBUTE_CATEGORY prior the marketing attribute import.
