While running the application from SAP Business Application Studio for test, you are getting the following error from the browser console which is blocking the access to the external server URL:
Access to XMLHttpRequest at '<external server URL>' from origin 'https://port8080-workspaces-ws-<ws-id>.<region>.applicationstudio.cloud.sap' has been blocked by CORS policy: Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource."
